Greetings, Valley View Rotary family and friends!!!
Thank you to everyone that attended last week's program with Paul Holman on the impact playing catch can have on bringing us close together both for families in the backyard and with our work colleagues in the office.
"We do not stop playing because we grow old - We grow old because we stop playing." - George Bernard Shaw
Some notes from the presentation:
- Playing catch as children or adults can have a lasting, positive impact on our lives.
- Everyone needs to feel a sense of belonging and importance in life. Playing catch helps break down barriers and connects people on a personal level.
- Playing catch with another person, especially a parent is an intimate experience. Playing catch breaks down the barriers to communication and allows for the discussion of difficult subject matter.
National Play Catch Week is now the third full week in June, so that it always includes Father’s Day. Any volunteers to make this a larger event in La Crosse this year?

Rotary Lights Check Presentations
Please join us this week to join fellow Rotarian Pat Stephens as he delivers checks to organizations that volunteered at Rotary Lights this year. Each year, Pat divides the volunteering organizations among the participating area Rotary Clubs and invites them to a Club Meeting to receive their check. This year, 12 non-profits have been invited to our Valley View Meeting this week.
See you Wednesday!
La Crosse Roads Graduation
