Welcome to my 24th newsletter. I am almost halfway through my term and still feel like a beginner at handling this newsletter layout. Some weeks it works for me, others...not so much.
NOTE: The Birthdays & Anniversaries Widget is stuck in November. Too bad; I enjoy seeing everyone's life event dates. I will keep working on this, as I'm sure we all want to know who the December birthdays are and who got married in December.
No Meeting this Week
This is the week of our club Christmas PARTAY! There will be no meeting at the YMCA on Wednesday morning. Some of us will celebrate by sleeping in, others will come to the Y anyway to do their morning workouts, but hopefully, ALL of us will be at the La Crosse Country Club on Thursday evening, between 5 and 6 p.m., for food, fun, and fellowship.
My gifts for kids in foster care are wrapped and waiting by the door. Don't forget to bring your presents if you signed up and haven't delivered them yet (like me!).
And if gag gifts are your thing, please bring a white elephant to exchange. Gee, I wish I hadn't thrown out that bottle of peanut butter-flavored bourbon...
Sincere thanks to all of our club members who generously opened their hearts and their closets to collect clothing, shoes, and toiletries for donation to Project Proven students at Western Technical College. We were able to donate a total of 27 boxes, bags, and luggage full of necessities for former prisoners participating in WTC's Project Proven program. Western’s Project Proven program changes lives, and Valley View Rotary has tangibly contributed to those positive changes. Thank you! --Shari Laffredi and Team
