Greetings, VVR members. Tonight, we are getting our first frost warning of the season. Despite the recent weird weather patterns, this is right on schedule. First frost is almost always around my husband’s birthday on the 7th. At least some things haven't changed yet.

Saturday, November 4, is just one month away. Julie Nelson has volunteered to captain our team, and we hope to win some prizes again this year: best team name, best costumes, and most amount of food donated.
In that spirit, let’s start bringing nonperishable food items to our meetings on Wednesday morning, starting this week. Stephanie says she used to keep the donations in her van until the day of the event. I’m not sure how that will work with Julie’s little car, but wouldn’t it be fun to try and FILL HER CAR WITH FOOD?

Driftless Recovery Services
Brett Knutson will be our speaker this week, on October 11. Brett is the President and CEO of Driftless Recovery Services and will present to the Georgia delegation during their visit.
His organization offers counseling and housing solutions to former prisoners, and the Georgia delegation will be visiting his housing and program facility. This is an opportunity to continue to learn alongside our visitors.
