Greetings to you all,
Our Georgian guests have safely landed, and we are having a great time showing them the sights and getting to know each other.
Since my day tomorrow is already very full, I am sending out the newsletter on Saturday night. If I miss anything important, please email me, and I will send out an additional note.
First, a reminder that our meeting schedule on Wednesday will be adjusted to allow our guests more time for their presentations. I will ring the bell at 7:30 a.m. Breakfast will be ready to serve at 7:15 a.m., so if you can arrive a little early, that would be great.
We will forego some of our usual program but will still have the moment of inspiration and rooter with personal announcements. After all, we want our guests to go home with some understanding of who we are and how a meeting is conducted.
Their presentations will begin at 7:45 a.m.
IFeed, or: How Much Food Fills a Fit?
IFeed is coming up on Saturday, November 4.
If you’d like to join this fun and meaningful service project, we need two more people to join the team and two as alternates.
You can sign up on Club Runner by clicking on the link in this newsletter under Upcoming Events or contact Julie Nelson:
We’ll also be collecting non-perishable food for local food pantries. You can bring your food on October 25 or November 1, and we’ll find out how much stuff will actually fit in Julie’s orange Honda Fit, or you can bring your food directly to Logan High School on November 4.
We are still waiting to find out our packing time and will get the information to you as soon as we have it.
Holiday Party
Just a reminder: our club holiday party is scheduled for Thursday, December 14, at the La Crosse Country Club. Social hour from 5-6 pm, and Dinner at 6 pm, with a cash bar. We all pay for ourselves and a guest; meal choices are baked cod, pork loin, and cheese tortellini.
Social Opportunities with the Delegation
We have some special social activities planned for everyone to get to know our Georgian guests. Check your calendars and try to make at least one of these!
- Wednesday, 10/18: Everyone is invited to join us on 10/18 around 6 p.m. for pizza at Big Al's if you'd like to share some social time with our delegates. We won't need to make a reservation, and no meals will be ordered in advance, so no signup is required, but you are welcome to join us!
- Thursday, 10/19: We'll be having dinner at the Freighthouse in the Hiawatha room. Anyone is welcome to join (at your own expense). Please get in touch with Sandy if you plan to attend so we can let them know if we'll have more than 16 people.
