Happy Friday, Valley View Rotarians! Sending out the newsletter early this week, as I will be out of town over the weekend.
Hopefully everyone saw the BIG NEWS: The Board voted at the monthly Board meeting this week to make the Y North in Onalaska our new official home! Say goodbye to the nomadic lifestyle of the past four months. If you plan to Zoom for any meetings, please use the Y Zoom link that will be published in this newsletter and from now on... it is different from our Valley View link.
We will be commencing with our once/month fellowship or service project (last Wednesday of each month) in lieu of an in-person meeting after the Moon Tunes season.
Thank you to our retiring Board members, Tom Byerly, Tan Pham and Mark Etrheim. We are so grateful for your service. Welcome to our two new Board members, Rox and Scott! Following is the Valley View Rotary Club 2022-23 Board:
Past-President: Katie Thomson

Riverfest Fencing Take Down is Thursday, July 5, at 7 a.m. Please contact Mike Herro at Michael.j.herro@xcelenergy.com or 780-1217 if you can volunteer at this annual service project (which nets us a nice check!).

I was at a retirement party last night so couldn't make it to Moon Tunes, but I saw on Facebook that it was a big crowd on a beautiful night. We will get a Moon Tunes update from Terry at the meeting, but I will pass along his kudos to Tom Sahlstrom for doing an amazing job leading sponsorships for this season. Thank you, Tom!

Mark your calendars for Monday, June 27, for bingo at Court Above Main! Doors open at 5, bingo at 6. Beer by Bike Brigade is starting the bingo fundraiser and Valley View Rotary is the guest caller for its first night, June 27. Terry, Robert, Tom B and I are calling and of course, the more the merrier. Our club will receive $250 for guest calling at the event!

Julie Nelson is collecting school supplies for Northside Elementary. Northside starts again on July 13 and they are nearly out of most school supplies. Julie will bring a collection bin to our next meetings and notes that cash or checks work great, too. The check should be made to Northside Elementary. Julie will plan a fun evening of sorting all donated items into separate bins. Here is a link to the wish list:

It's club directory time. With the start of a new Rotary in July, the club will distribute a pdf copy of club members and information. Be sure to update your info on Club Runner. (Login in the upper right corner of the Valley View homepage: https://www.valleyviewrotary.com/) A rough draft copy will also be distributed during upcoming in-person club meetings. Refer questions to Brad Quarberg at bquarberg@gmail.com.

Donating the number of years at your birthday to the Rotary Foundation for Polio has become a club tradition. Just log in to My Rotary and click on donate. The participation has been truly awesome and given the average age of our club, this is a significant amount of money!
