Greetings, Valley View Rotary family and friends!!!
Thank you to Earth for sharing more about his life in Thailand.  Earth, you did a tremendous job showing the beauty of Thailand and all it has to offer!  We are very grateful that you found our Valley View Rotary Club to spend your school year this year with us.
Please join us this week to hear from Lynn West to share about La Crosse's Sister City relationship with Bantry, Ireland.
Open World
Thank you to everyone that has signed-up to participate in bringing the Open World experience to La Crosse for this first time in the 20-year history of the program.  This is a remarkable opportunity for Valley View Rotary to showcase our innovative ways here in Wisconsin to our new friends from the Republic of Georgia this coming October!  We are currently 100% staffed for the roles that have been identified at this point.  Stay tuned for periodic updates, there are files that have been uploaded to Club Runner for more information.  Thank you to Shari Laffredi for all of her work to gain approval from Rotary International and for all of her coordination of this project!
Hosts needed for former Rotary Inbound Student
Isha Paudel is a former Inbound Youth Exchange Student from Nepal.  Several District 6250 Rotarians have been assisting her with attending college in the United States (Platteville).  This coming summer, arrangements have been made for an internship for Isha at Trane Technologies from mid-May to mid-August.
PDG Edwin Bos and PDG Bill Pritchard are wondering if any of the Coulee Region Rotarians might have a place for her to stay during this time.  We are looking for "inexpensive" lodging... I was thinking of it as a youth exchange hosting opportunity!  She has been talking about getting an old junker car and driving back and forth... but as a new driver that makes us a bit nervous... plus the additional expenses of upkeep, etc... :-) More than one person/family could be a good fit as well and split the time.
Isha is a remarkable young woman who has truly changed the world with her dedication.  Consider that this young lady... went from hiding in a car to meet Americans in Katmandu... to learning English... to going on a special exchange to the United States (in our District)... to being accepted into an American University.  It is truly remarkable, and just one example of the incredible power of Rotary and specifically its Youth Exchange Program.  These young people - both inbound like Isha and our sons/daughters/grandchildren who go abroad to study - quite simply change the world and our lives.
If you or someone in your club is interested, please have them reach out to me at this email address ( or call me on the cell number listed below - PDG Bill Pritchard 608.780.2637.
