Greetings, Valley View Rotarians! Today is my son's 16th birthday! Holy smokes. We are heading to Greengrass Cafe in a bit (when he wakes up) for birthday breakfast, then ski hill. Then spaghetti and meatballs, chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream. :) Hope you are all having a great weekend!
The speaker this week is Nicki Pope from Northside Elementary School. Looking forward to hearing about all the ways Northside educates and positively impacts children and families.
UPDATE regarding our meeting location news: As you know, our last meeting at Famous Dave's will be on either Feb. 16 or Feb. 23. The La Crosse Country Club informed me this week they no longer are able to host our club for the weekly breakfast. The Valley View Rotary Board has been busy brainstorming and investigating other options and will meet for our regular monthly meeting on Tuesday morning. If you have sites for consideration, please email me ASAP. We will move to Zoom after our last meeting at Famous Dave's until our fabulous new location is determined. As I said last week, although it is a current logistical challenge and we will miss Famous Dave's, this change is a positive growth opportunity for us and I'm excited for our next chapter as a Club.

 Donating the number of years at your birthday to the Rotary Foundation for Polio has become a club tradition. Just log in to My Rotary and click on donate. The participation has been truly awesome and given the average age of our club, this is a significant amount of money!
