Open World
Three pieces of news regarding the Open World project.
Sunday 10/15 Pot Luck: We did not get sufficient interest in having a Pot Luck dinner Sunday night, 10/15, so we canceled that idea.
Pizza on Wednesday, 10/18: Everyone is invited to join us on 10/18 around 6 p.m. for pizza at Big Al's if you'd like to share some social time with our delegates. We won't need to make a reservation, so no signup is required, but you are welcome to join us!
Swag Bags: We would like to put together bags for the six delegates (5 plus their facilitator) that would give them some souvenirs of their trip to La Crosse. We're thinking of things like logo pens/note pads/calendars/tote bags, and maybe T-shirts or coffee cups - the kinds of freebies a company might hand out at a conference, an expo, or to important visitors at their office. You can bring stuff to one of the following three meetings or contact Shari, Brad, Sandy, or Paul. We have discovered that hosts typically do not gift the paid Interpreter, so we plan to give the Swag Bags to the delegation on the weekend before the Interpreter arrives.
Valley View Rotarians Abroad
Did you know that two of our members have just returned from Croatia as part of a Rotary Friendship Exchange? Judging by the photos on Facebook, Tom Byerly, Greg Clark, and all the others from our district on the trip were wined and dined in grand style. Looking forward to hearing about this trip!
